Isn't it funny how the universe likes to challenge us?
I mean, it's not funny at all - it's a pain in the arse, but it's true isn’t it?
When you finally decide to commit to something you want for yourself, you can bet your bottom dollar your desire and resolve to see it through is going to be challenged.
When you finally delete the number of the emotionally unavailable guy who's dipped in and out at his will for too long... you'll then hear from him the next day.
When you finally commit to that yoga class and sign up to the prepaid package… work will throw a new project at you that demands that time back.
When you finally resolve that you're DONE with spending your evenings over-eating sugary rubbish whilst binge watching Netflix… a friend will swing by gifting you a box of chocolates and your fave show's new series will drop.
I remember so clearly THE VERY DAY I decided to take myself off the register as a chiropractor and fully commit to my coaching business, I had FIVE emails from people in Ankara seeking a chiropractor.
And today, having FINALLY set dates and schedules for my online group coaching course (more to follow), I am suddenly facing EVERY SINGLE TECH BATTLE you can imagine.
This is just how the universe works... you think want something Georgie? Prove it!
Many times I have fallen at these first hurdles.
Then I started to realise how this is just life’s test - the universe’s way to assess our commitment and truth.
So I started to recognise it and, when right, push through.
The day I committed fully to my coaching business and said bye-bye to my chiropractic practice, I booked in those 5 new chiropractic patients. (Insert well-deserved eye-roll). Thankfully I quickly saw what was happening. Universal challenge was at play and I had almost fallen for it. So I back-tracked and cancelled them.
Cancelling them felt good.
In the same way that telling Mr. Unavailable to hit-the-road will feel good.
Making your yoga classes non-negotiable and finding that time for work elsewhere, will feel good.
Politely declining the gifted chocolates explaining why, will feel good.
Persevering and getting my group coaching course live for you all, will feel good.
Because when you uphold your self-honouring promises for change, you’re saying (to yourself and to the universe) "I’m worth it", "I deserve it" and most importantly "I've got my back".
So yes, the universe will test you when you decide to make positive change for yourself.
Welcome that challenge.
Because that challenge builds self-trust, it strengthens that "I can" muscle and above all else it says, "yes universe, I want this, I deserve this and by goodness I'm going to make it happen!"
So much love,
