A big warm hello and welcome to Chasing Lobsters!
I’m Georgie Muir;
LIFE COACH to wonderful people across the world,
Mum to the beautiful Maxwell,
wife to the gorgeous graham,
walker to the wonderful RUA,
and totally passionate about this thing called life.
I am delighted you’ve joined me here today.
You can read HERE about how and where this not-so ‘silly little blog’ of mine began, but in essence, this is why I’m here;
Being healthy and living vibrantly, doesn’t have to be complicated. Health isn’t rocket science, fitness isn’t only for athletic types, happiness isn't reserved for the lucky few and you don’t need the will power of a monk to get there. Calm can be found within chaos. Consistency can be found within the most inconsistent of worlds (and personalities). Contentedness is often only a few steps, several tricky questions and some compassionate self-inquiry away.
I am a healthy-eater, a healthy-mover and an ever-practising healthy-thinker and, through sharing my journey and insights from my beloved work as a life coach, I hope to encourage you towards the same.
Ultimately, I’m here to show you that the healthy, vibrant life you dream of is closer than you think. Temporarily borrow my faith in you and know; that healthy, calm, connected and content version of you is just around the corner.
I’m here because I truly believe that life is exciting, dreams are priceless and chasing them down is fun.
So please join me here, on social media, and in my weekly emails (sign up below) to learn simple practices, principles and habits, that will see your mood, body, energy and life transform. If you want to know more about how I work as a coach then head over here.
I am so excited to share my journey with you and inspire and empower you along yours.
A little NOSTALGIA...
Chasing Lobsters began for me in Summer 2014 when we found out that Graham, my husband, had been posted to work with the US Army in Louisiana for two years. As exciting as that was, it quickly became apparent that I wasn’t going to be able to continue to practice as a chiropractor out there...PANIC!!!!.
So my chiropractic practices, roles, routines and my identity were all to be put on pause...Uh oh...
After some initial teary concerns (total melt down) of 'but what will I do?' / 'This is who I am!' / 'I don’t want to be 'just a wife'' etc. my Dad’s old teachings came back to me;
~ THE WORLD IS MY LOBSTER, I CAN DO, BE, SEE AND ACHIEVE WHATEVER I DESIRE!
Rather than shrinking into the darkness of lost identity, I decided to see it as an incredible opportunity! An opportunity for change, growth, adventure, self-development and discovery – an opportunity to question actually not ‘what can I do’ or ‘what will I do’ but rather ‘what do I want to do?’
Things then very quickly transitioned from terrifying, to the most exciting journey of my life.
I vowed to keep myself active and inspired in pursuing my own business, health, finance and adventure 'lobsters' whilst still empowering people everyday to also take steps towards a vibrant, healthy life they love. I launched this blog and from that blossomed a gorgeous Life Coaching business that I adore. I was determined to provide yummy, wholesome recipes, exercise tips and thought provoking nuggets of information that inspire the world to be healthier, happier and follow their dreams!
It is a journey that has taken me places physically and emotionally I’d never been before, but without doubt it has been the best challenge of my life.
